What’s more – there are some incredible tax incentives for individuals to help them live out their own Dolce Vita to the max.

Italy is the 4th least expensive country to live in Western Europe. Rome, as a comparison, is 38% cheaper to live in than in London, and Milan is 21% cheaper to live in than Paris. Overall, rent in Italy is 15.5% lower than in France.
Tax Incentives in Italy
Since January 2021, the Italian Government has introduced a series of special tax regimes (STRs), to attract new tax residents.
The tax breaks vary between 70% to a staggering 90% for individuals depending on the region in which they reside in Italy.
Who qualifies for a tax exemption in Italy?
Any foreign nationals or Italian nationals who have lived outside of Italy for more than two years will be eligible for the tax break for the first 5 years. This can be increased to 10 years should they have a child or buy a property in Italy.
They are also applicable to certain individuals who have transferred their tax residency to Italy after the 19th of May 2020 and consist of substantial income tax cuts.
A combined lower cost of living compared to other European cities, plus the highly attractive tax incentives and quality of life make Italy an extremely enticing prospect to live.
