A young but fast-growing semiconductor designer is seeking a highly skilled and experienced System Infrastructure Leader to join their team. The ideal candidate will possess a holistic approach to IT infrastructure management and cybersecurity, integrating security protocols seamlessly with IT systems. This role will involve setting up, maintaining, and optimizing the company’s entire IT infrastructure, from the ground up, with a particular focus on ensuring robust security measures, scalability, and compliance with industry standards. The candidate will also be responsible for designing and deploying IT infrastructure for new facilities or data centers, ensuring high availability and fault tolerance. Additionally, they will develop, implement, and oversee cybersecurity policies, procedures, and best practices while supporting daily IT operations, as well as build out the team of engineers as the business grows.

Responsibilities

Design, deploy, and maintain IT systems, including servers, networks, storage solutions, and virtualization platforms, ensuring the architecture is scalable, reliable, and high-performance.
Lead the setup of the company’s IT infrastructure, including networking, server rooms, data centers, and cloud services, ensuring optimal performance and security.
Configure and manage server environments (Windows/Linux), virtualization platforms (VMware, Hyper-V), cloud services (AWS, Azure), and storage systems.
Develop and implement network architecture, including routers, switches, firewalls, and VPNs, to support multi-site and remote operations securely.
Establish and manage backup strategies, disaster recovery solutions, and high-availability systems to minimize downtime and ensure business continuity.
Manage access rights, permissions, and user roles to ensure secure and efficient system operations.
Integrate various IT systems (on-premises and cloud) to create a cohesive, secure, and efficient infrastructure across multiple locations or hybrid cloud environments.
Oversee network configuration, firewall management, and VPN setup to ensure secure and efficient remote access capabilities.
Develop, implement, and maintain cybersecurity policies, procedures, and controls to safeguard the organization’s IT infrastructure.
Ensure the IT environment complies with industry regulations (e.g., GDPR, ISO 27001, NIST) and aligns with the organization’s risk management framework.
Conduct regular penetration testing, vulnerability assessments, and threat modelling to identify risks and recommend mitigation strategies.
Implement security controls such as firewalls, encryption, and secure access points to prevent unauthorized access and data breaches.
Regularly review, update, and enforce security policies and procedures across the IT infrastructure to meet evolving threats.
Lead security awareness training initiatives for staff and end users to promote best practices and reduce risks.
Identify vulnerabilities in current systems and collaborate with the IT and security teams to remediate issues promptly.
Take a holistic approach to align IT infrastructure with cybersecurity, ensuring seamless integration and risk mitigation.
Monitor system performance, identify potential bottlenecks, and optimize the infrastructure to meet the organization’s growing demands.

Qualifications

Minimum of 5+ years of experience in IT infrastructure engineering, with a proven track record of setting up, configuring, and maintaining IT systems and networks.
Demonstrable experience in managing and securing enterprise-level IT systems** in a multi-location or hybrid cloud environment.
Hands-on experience in penetration testing, security assessments, and compliance auditing.
Bachelor’s degree in computer science, Information Technology, Cybersecurity, or a related field is preferred.
Relevant certifications, including CEH, CISM, or CompTIA Security+, are highly desirable.
Proven experience in IT infrastructure management, including server environments, network configuration, storage systems, and virtualization (VMware, Hyper-V).
Experience in designing IT infrastructure from the ground up, including configuring new data centers, server rooms, or migrating to cloud services.
Strong background in cybersecurity and IT systems integration.
CISSP certification is required.
Familiarity with security frameworks such as NIST, ISO/IEC 27001, GDPR, and other industry regulations.
Expertise in firewall configurations, VPNs, IDS/IPS systems, encryption technologies, and security monitoring tools.
Experience with access management, identity and authentication systems, and user role administration.
Solid understanding of incident response protocols, disaster recovery planning, and backup strategies
