Senior Glass Expert
You will be joining a world-leading technology company at their R&D site in Munich.

Responsibilities
- Lead the planning and development of dominant glass technologies, including cover glass, optical glass, and substrate glass, with a focus on materials science.
- Strategically plan the roadmap for future innovation, applications, and research of inorganic non-metallic materials, particularly advanced glass materials like high-strength cover glass and optical lens glass, based on industry trends.
- Utilize and contribute to practitioner-ready verification tools supported by formal methods.
- Innovate and commercialize high-performance glass materials and processes, identifying potential risks early in development and application. Establish evaluation systems and standards for material quality and processes.
- Collaborate with leading research institutes and supply chain partners to overcome challenges in glass material and process development, enhancing product performance, design, and manufacturability.
- Stay informed on the latest industry trends in glass research and applications, driving collaborative projects with top institutes and suppliers to resolve development bottlenecks and strengthen the competitive edge of glass materials in our products.
Qualifications
- PhD in fields related to inorganic non-metallic materials, silicate materials, material science, materials physics, materials chemistry, or control engineering.
- At least 10 years of experience in the research or development of glass technologies.
- Recognized as an industry leader, with past roles as a professor or senior engineer in major glass industry companies. Extensive network within the glass industry and deep knowledge of the sector’s technical development directions.
- Expertise in glass formulation, structure, and processing technologies, with a proven track record of successfully developing and mass-producing glass products.
