A Photonics start up based in Ghent are looking to build their engineering team to help them develop next generation data centre technology. As a part of this, they are looking for an experienced Process Engineer to join their team.Â
As a part of this role, the successful candidate will be expected to travel occasionally to China to work with their sister company.Â
Key Responsibilities
- Develop and enhance post-processing techniques for products on silicon platforms.
- Validate and implement bonding technologies and dry etching processes for silicon photonics chips, focusing on refining process parameters and improving stability.
- Oversee the production of optoelectronic chip samples and small batch products using post-processing techniques.
- Support engineering teams in the packaging processes of silicon photonic devices.
- Collaborate with third-party fabrication platforms to ensure compliance with technical specifications and project requirements.
- Manage and coordinate outsourced projects.
- Conduct research on silicon photonics chip processes and communicate with wafer fabrication factories to align chip post-processing techniques with wafer manufacturing processes.
Key Qualifications
- M.Sc. or Ph.D. in Material Science, Applied Physics, Opto-electronics, or a related field.
- At least 10 years of practical experience in semiconductor technology and industrial manufacturing.
- Minimum of 10 years of experience with optoelectronic chip post-processing techniques.
- At least 10 years of experience in silicon photonics chip bonding, dry etching, or related areas.
- Experience in designing, processing, and testing silicon-based photonic integrated chips is a plus.
- Experience with high-speed electro-optic modulator packaging and testing is a plus.
- Strong sense of responsibility, excellent teamwork capabilities, and effective communication skills.
